Dr. Alexandria King is the Assistant Training Director for the Hawai‘i Psychology Internship Consortium, as well as a secondary supervisor for the East Hawaii FGC site where she also serves as a clinical lead. She earned her Psy.D. from Alliant International University, Sacramento in 2021 and completed both her internship and postdoctoral fellowship through HIPIC. Dr. King provides supervision to masters- and doctoral-level interns, with a focus on trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for children, adolescents, and families. She is a certified provider and trainer of PC-CARE, a brief adaptation of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and played a key role in bringing this intervention to the state of Hawai‘i during her internship year. Since 2020, she has trained 10 therapists and served over 50 families across the islands utilizing this intervention. Dr. King is dedicated to increasing access to trauma-informed care for children and families across underserved communities. Her clinical interests include caregiver-child interventions, complex trauma, diagnostic assessment, and community-based mental health services. Dr. King is also a candidate for board certification in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
